Captain Graham Botterill

Captain Graham Botterill sadly passed away on Wednesday 29th January after suffering a terminal brain tumour.

Graham’s biggest achievement was helping write and implement the ISM Code and he worked tirelessly to ensure companies abided by the Code and made the seas a safer place for all.

For all of those who came into contact with him, knew him as a friend, have been taught by him or worked with him, he made a huge impression. He loved telling stories of being stranded in the Suez Canal and setting up a football team and for those that have sat the training, the anecdotes about the ‘Mother in Law’, where always given with a cheeky smile. He travelled continuously for his work and never complained and had no intention of ever retiring because he loved his work so much. He was, and is, a much loved and respected man who will never be forgotten. The world is an emptier place without him and the memories he has left will never be forgotten.

All the staff at Ferriby Marine will continue to run Graham’s company in his memory and ensure it continues to grow.
